Family Triumphs and Resilience at the ADCC UK National Championships 2024

The ADCC UK National Championships 2024 brought together some of the finest grapplers from across the country, and Combat Base Leeds was well represented by brothers Mikey and Lewis Brook, alongside regular competitor Toby Colling. It was a challenging day of high-level competition, filled with moments of perseverance, hard work, and achievement.

Toby and Mikey both faced formidable opponents in the opening rounds and, despite their best efforts, were unable to advance. Nevertheless, their determination and commitment were clear, demonstrating the spirit and resilience our team is known for.

Lewis Brook: Championing the Over 40s

The standout of the weekend was Lewis Brook, who delivered an outstanding performance to claim gold in his category, proudly representing the over 40s. Lewis’s skill, experience, and relentless approach were on full display as he battled his way to the top, earning a well-deserved place on the podium.

Lewis’s son, Harry, also showcased his competitive spirit, taking on a tough bracket with the skill and tenacity he’s known for. A seasoned BJJ competitor and MMA fighter, Harry trains primarily at Gracie Barra Bradford but has joined us on the mats on occasion. His performance was a testament to his dedication and fighting spirit and it was great to witness both father and son sharing the competition mats together.

Looking Ahead

Congratulations to Lewis on his gold medal achievement and to Harry for his strong performance. We also commend Mikey and Toby for their continued dedication and representation of our team. Here's to more competitions, more achievements, and more proud moments on the mats, making coach Nam proud!
