Success at Northern Gi + NoGi Submission Open 7!

Another great weekend of competition for Combat Base Leeds at the Northern Gi + NoGi Submission Open 7 in Sheffield! This event saw first-time competitors and twins Yusif & Jacob Hanna step onto the mats, bringing their competitive experience from rugby league and demonstrating their hard work and drive.
Yusif took gold, winning a round-robin format against his opponent with two solid victories on points.
Jacob faced a tough first match but bounced back strong, securing a bronze medal with a well-executed Americana in his second bout.
Toby made a last-minute decision to enter, fresh off a training holiday in Thailand. Despite only just returning, he competed to support his teammates, offering his experience and leadership. Toby went on to win gold, earning victory in the final via referee’s decision.
A fantastic effort from all competitors—showing the heart, dedication, and team spirit that defines Combat Base Leeds!
